Our Duty of Care

Our Duty of Care

There are many reasons to be a part of the CAPS community. No doubt, many of our members enjoy access to information that accelerates their career. Others enjoy the ca-maraderie that comes from associating with people who understand the speaking busi-ness. Regardless of the specific reason one may have joined CAPS, one benefit that we all experience is the care members of the CAPS community express for one another.

A fundamental human trait is the desire to be cared for and the need to care for others. CAPS Foundation is a vehicle that enables us to fulfill our duty of care and enjoy the bene-fit of receiving care in time of need. The benefits of the CAPS Foundation do not originate with the Foundation. CAPS Foundation benefits originate from the hearts of people who want to make the world a better place, and who realize that their fellow speakers may be interrupted from their mission due to unanticipated health or financial issues.

Every year we raise funds during our convention. Our convention will be here before you know it. You’ll soon be asked to contribute to our noble cause. In the spirit of CAPS, please start thinking from now about how you might be able to contribute and fulfill our collective duty of care.

Visit the CAPS Convention and  CAPS Foundation website for more information about the Professional Speakers’ Benefit Fund and our CAPS Peer Support Program.
