Summer is approaching, and yet, your Convention team is hard at work creating an unforgettable experience when you get to Ottawa in the winter!

Here’s some of the news that we’re CRAZY EXCITED to announce:

1.   Call for Proposals now open – submission deadline Thursday June 15!  

We are seeking proposals from experts who are willing to share their knowledge, expertise, and ideas that will help attendees to cultivate new ideas, collaborate with others, and celebrate the future of their business. Please submit your proposal using our on-line submission form and once completed, click “submit. Submissions are due before 5:00 pm (17h00), EDT Thursday, June 15, 2017.

2.   We’ve got MULTIPLE emcees — You read that right! We are changing it up so that you will get to see different styles – and different speakers – each day.  Please welcome Michael Kerr CSP, HoF, Orlando Bowen, and Stephanie Staples CSP, as our Convention emcees!

(Do you think Michael will tell us about the time he got temporarily trapped in an elevator with Jeff Mowatt during a CAPS convention? Let’s hope!).

Jessica will teach us how we can overcome our limitations and achieve greatness. And do we ever love greatness!

COLLABORATE with Scott Stratten: The Age of Disruption, Everything Has Changed and Nothing is Different (Sunday Morning Keynote)

Scott will share how trust, connection, consistency and service will always trump the next new shiny business object. And how it’s time to separate from the pack of noise, and “unsell.”

CULTIVATE with Elizabeth Nyamayaro:  How To Create A Social Movement (Monday Morning Keynote)

Elizabeth is the driving force behind the HeForShe initiative, rallying call for gender equality that made headlines worldwide and generated millions of dollars in donations, made famous by Emma Watson’s UN speech in 2014, which was viewed in various forms over 10 million times on YouTube

4.   Thanks Ottawa Senators for a great season! (wait, who said that??)

5.   BEST 2-MINUTE CANADA VIDEO EVER!

This video captured the essence of the nation through animation (created by Ottawa-based animation studio Mercury Filmworks), specially for Canada’s 150^th birthday. Take the 2 minutes to watch it, we guarantee you’ll have a smile on your face and a skip in your step!

(Spoiler alert: While there are beavers featured in this animation, there are no Beaver Tails. We’re still trying to get to the bottom of this glaring omission).

6.   CAPS Toronto & CAPS SWO: Get a ride on the CAPS CARES TRAIN!

Get on the CAPS CARES TRAIN in London, Toronto, or Oshawa and spend the time networking and getting to know your fellow convention-goers. The train will arrive before Chapter Leadership meeting and the pre-conference programs. Book early, as it is a first-come, first-serve booking. Get more information.
