CAPS PRESIDENTS’ WIDSOM
Let’s start with our CAPS President’s Wisdom. Past presidents have shared advice, insights, and tips with me that I truly believe apply to many of us, so I’m excited to pass them along. Michelle Cederberg said, “You are good at so many things—and yes, you are, right? You will step into this role and shine. Because of that, the tendency is to do everything at your level. But delegation is what truly saves you. Empower others to step up after you. You have so many skills—let others grow theirs too.” Such a powerful reminder that many of us can embrace.
Ravi Tangri also shared, “You run everything, you do it all, but now you’re a leader. Your job is not to be in the weeds—it’s to make sure the job gets done. You have boards, and they are amazing. Let them rise so you can pass leadership forward.” Thank you to both Ravi and Michelle for these incredible insights.

Let’s move into CAPS news. It’s time to renew your membership. The April 1st deadline has already passed, but there may still be a short grace period—so act quickly if you haven’t renewed yet. Otherwise, you may need to repay the initiation fee. Ideally, take care of it now if it’s still pending.
I received a message this week from Michelle Castillo, who has been my web engineer for years. She found an email she sent me back in February 2017. It read, “Hey Nathalie, I’m sitting at a table at a women’s event, and the lady beside me—Jen DeTracey—is a member of CAPS. Have you heard of them? They have an event coming up—you should go.” And the rest is history. Nine years later, here I am as your CAPS President. So here’s a question for you: who will you invite this month? Who will you send that message to? That person could be sitting in this role in the future. Let’s spread the word.
More CAPS news: the call for speakers for our Show Business Convention (December 5–7) is now open. I strongly encourage you to apply. Speaking in front of other speakers can feel intimidating, but it’s one of the best ways to grow your craft and get noticed. Personally, I would never refer a speaker I haven’t seen in action. When you step on that stage, you increase your visibility and your chances of being referred.

The Business Starter Track 10-month program is also launching again in June. I previously mentioned that one more leader would be announced, and I’m excited to share that Peter Chapman will be leading the marketing module. Looking ahead at upcoming events, we have CAPS Behind the Mic on April 14, focused on winning corporate business with Paul Barnard, along with a Q&A featuring Rob Rudy and Ross Sanders. This will be incredibly valuable if you’re looking to grow your corporate client base.
I’ll also be visiting all chapters this year, starting in BC on April 18, presenting alongside Azadeh Yaraghi and Nathan Aswell. I’ll be speaking about sales—especially if selling feels uncomfortable or even painful. While I don’t consider myself a traditional sales expert, I’ve built a strong speaking business, and I’ll be sharing the strategies, pipelines, and mindset shifts that helped me reach the high-income earners group. CAPS COMMUNITIES
The CAPS communities are also launching this month. These communities will focus on topics such as writing a book, sales, marketing, AI, and additional income streams. I’ll be hosting the Friday morning accountability group—a focused hour to tackle something you’ve been procrastinating on. Watch for more details in your email and join us.
GLOBAL SPEAKERS SUMMIT
Now, let’s talk about GSS 2026. I recently returned from Australia, where I was not only enjoying the experience—petting koalas, feeding kangaroos, and yes, enjoying some ice cream—but also representing CAPS.
Before the conference began, I participated in the Global Speaking Federation (GSF) board meeting. It was a valuable half-day session, and I’m bringing back insights to our national board. A special thank you to Ron Tsang, our GSF representative for the past three years, for his outstanding service and leadership.
GSF represents associations, not individuals—so as CAPS members, you are indirectly part of it. New this year is the Global Speakers Network, which allows individual speakers to connect worldwide through learning sessions, masterminds, and collaborations. GSF is also launching mastermind intensives in Lisbon, Portugal this October—three days, five topics, and small groups of 12 participants. It’s a powerful opportunity for deep learning and global connection. https://www.globalspeakersfederation.net/mmmc
During the summit, we also represented CAPS at the international day, showcasing CAPS Academy and promoting our convention. I’m excited to share that we’ve built new international partnerships, expanding our reach to countries including Malaysia, India, South Africa, Germany, and Australia, alongside our existing partnerships with the UK, Ireland, and France.
One of the highlights was our Canadian dinner—bringing together Canadians from all over the world. Some are still based in Canada, others live abroad, but it was a special moment of connection and community.

One thing that truly stood out during the summit was the reputation of CAPS. Everywhere I went, people said, “You’re from CAPS? Wow, CAPS is amazing.” That reputation belongs to all of you—the leaders, volunteers, and members who have built this incredible community over the years. I was simply proud to represent it.
CAPS NATIONAL BOARD FEATURE
For this month’s CAPS Board Feature, I’d like to recognize Barb Stuhlemmer and Robin O’Grady, our chapter liaisons. They are the connection between national and the chapters, supporting all chapter leadership teams across regions. Their leadership and dedication ensure that everything stays aligned and supported. Michelle Cederberg a dit : « Vous êtes bons dans tellement de choses — et oui, vous l’êtes, n’est-ce pas ? Vous allez entrer dans ce rôle et briller. À cause de cela, la tendance est de tout faire à votre niveau. Mais la délégation est ce qui vous sauve vraiment. Permettez aux autres de prendre leur place après vous. Vous avez tellement de compétences — laissez les autres développer les leurs aussi. » Un rappel puissant que plusieurs d’entre nous peuvent adopter.
Ravi Tangri a également partagé : « Vous gérez tout, vous faites tout, mais maintenant vous êtes un leader. Votre rôle n’est pas d’être dans les détails, mais de vous assurer que le travail se fait. Vous avez des conseils d’administration extraordinaires. Laissez-les s’élever afin que vous puissiez transmettre le leadership. » Merci à Ravi et Michelle pour ces précieux conseils.

Autre nouvelle : l’appel de conférenciers pour notre convention Show Business (du 5 au 7 décembre) est maintenant ouvert. Je vous encourage fortement à soumettre votre candidature. Parler devant d’autres conférenciers peut être intimidant, mais c’est l’un des meilleurs moyens de progresser et de vous faire remarquer. Personnellement, je ne recommanderais jamais un conférencier que je n’ai pas vu sur scène.
