A Message from the CAPS President for September 2025

Where did summer go?

I’m wishing you a busy fall, at least as busy as you want to be. I hope your calendars are filling up with perfect clients and great engagements. Your National Board has been busy. Despite the summer holidays, accomplishing many important tasks, and… working…

You know, the National Board has been busy, even over the summer holidays, continuing to move the organization forward and working on many of our initiatives from our strategic plan. Speaking of the National Board, you will have an email in your inbox inviting you to nominate you or someone else for the National Board. As you know, every year we have elections in the fall, late fall, for the following year’s national board. And we have a few members leaving the board this year as their terms are ending, and we will need to fill those spaces. So we invite you to consider serving on the National Board.

If you have anxiety or concerns about that, if you’re not sure you’re ready, please reach out to any of us on the National Board. We’d be happy to have a conversation with you and explain a little more about what the role entails. And what the commitment is like, and… and hopefully ease any concerns you might have, so that you might be willing to step up.

CAPS only works because we have an amazing team of volunteers who step up into leadership roles, and I invite you to consider doing the same. I know my experience has been that. Whatever I give to Caps, I get back in spades.

Secondly, Convention is coming right up. It’s gonna be a year before we know it. Ravi Tangree, CSP, and Tyler Aden, CSP, HOF, our co-chairs, have been working tirelessly to put together a remarkable program for you.

Merge Gupta Sundarji, CSP, has been working on the breakout session programs as well. That’s all lined up and ready to go, and I can’t wait for you to see the incredible experience we’re gonna have.

The numbers for pre-registration have been excellent. We’re excited to welcome everybody in Halifax. Pre-Convention has been getting great registrations as well. In fact, it may even sell out, so if you are interested in attending the Preconvention. If you haven’t signed up yet, make sure that you get that done. If you haven’t registered for Convention yet, make sure you click the box indicating that you want to attend pre-convention. It’s going to be a unique experience with some fun sightseeing and some great learning.

I want to say a special thank you to some special CAPS members who have served their terms on our Ethics Committee. Because members of the Ethics Committee are anonymous, I cannot tell you who they are, but they know who they are. And we thank them for their efforts and their contributions to this important work in our association.

I equally want to thank the two CAPS members who stepped forward to serve in their place.

Finally, keep your eyes peeled for a notification about an upcoming town hall. We don’t have a date for it yet, but it will be sometime mid-fall. And this is an opportunity for us at the national level to share a few important updates with you. As well as for you to ask any questions or voice any concerns that you might have for us.

So please Keep an eye on your inbox for that invitation. You’ll have the opportunity to register ahead of time. I believe we’ll be able to send out the recording for those who can’t attend.

And with that, I wish you a fantastic September. I hope it’s filled with health and great business success.
