Crowdfunding for Speakers: Kickstart your book launch, clarify your brand, and build your community

with Stephanie Staples & Jessica Potts

When you have a big dream for a book or product launch and you want to generate funds, raise your profile, and build/engage your audience – crowdfunding may be just what you didn’t know you needed!

During the pandemic, Jessica Potts & Stephanie Staples each launched projects through crowdfunding platforms; both were chosen as ‘Kickstarter Projects We Love’ – a distinction earned by only 10% of campaigns; and both projects far exceeded their financial targets, while deepening their relationships with their audiences, and furthering business objectives.

Join us as we unpack the projects, strategies, and inspiration behind a successful crowdfunding product launch. You will learn:

  • Why (or why not) leverage crowdfunding to generate more awareness and clarity for your speaking business.
  • How to align a book/product launch with your speaking business strategy.
  • 10 Do’s and Don’ts for promoting any product launch.

About Stephanie Staples

Master motivator, psychosocial wellness expert & 15 year CAPS veteran Stephanie Staples delivering idea-packed programs proven to increase feelings of hope, happiness, empowerment and ability to apply actionable, positive change for participants.

Already a multi-titled author, a children’s book idea popped into her head more as a personal idea than a business idea. Coming off a record low financial year (thank you COVID) she decided it was not a good time to invest in a ‘passion project’, that is until CAPS first virtual conference in 2020 when she heard Jessica Potts speak about her Kickstarter campaign.

After that everything changed for this rewired nurse, mom of three, Lolli of two and wife of one and a (last-placed) Triathlete. You can find out more about your Steph at http://StephanieStaples.ca

About Jessica Potts

Jessica Potts is a success strategist, speaker/trainer, and author.

She helps leaders build their dream teams by helping people get on the same page to get things done, while having fun!

She believes that leadership happens at all levels and her mission is to empower people to leverage their unique soft skills, strengths and superpowers to live their most optimistic, productive, fulfilled lives.

Join us for this year’s AGM on Sat, November 27 @ 8:15 – 8:40 am

Attendance is FREE of charge.

We need you to attend as there will be some big changes in CAPS next year, (Good ones) and we wish you to consider being on our Leadership Team.

We also require at least 17 people to form a quorum… so please register for the AGM (Bring your coffee and toast, if you wish).

We have been honoured to have nine wonderful volunteers to represent our Chapter and now, five of them have served their terms and will be leaving the Board. With our new “simplifying” changes in 2022, we believe that adding two or three people to our Board (Leadership Team), we will be able to offer you all the best chapter engagement, fun, events and leadership needed.

We are seeking people who may have an interest in offering their time to lead our chapter. You don’t need to be in a special interest area… you just need to believe in the power of CAPS.

Here is what I see for a commitment on our Leadership Team for next year:

• Attend and contribute to idea generations to our Leadership meetings (Zoom). (About 5-8 meetings per year)

• If you have a special category (Events, Social-Media, Membership), you will be asked to attend a monthly meeting with the rest of the Chapters in Canada. (1 hour/month). That may change, after our new format to simplify volunteer hours is implemented)

• Be an advocate for CAPS BC in person, in recruiting members.

We are very excited about the changes to hire Virtual Assistants to do much of the work that takes hours for a board member to do. We are proud that BC is a very financially stable Chapter.

We will be happy to discuss more about the Leadership Team (LT) responsibilities, if you are considering working on a small project with the LT. Or, even if you only wish to offer your time for a one-time project, as a member (not LT), we would welcome your help on occasion.

Register for the AGM today!
