Managing Anxiety and Building Personal Resilience

with Elizabeth Eldridge

In these turbulent times caring for our mental health has never been more important. But how are we supposed to do that, exactly?  Stress is a natural part of being human and is not inherently “bad”, but when it reaches a point where anxiety is in control of you rather than the other way around it needs to be acknowledged and managed.  Get down to brass tacks with Elizabeth for an exploration of what anxiety is (and isn’t), learn practical strategies to support your own mental wellbeing and help others when they need it most.

Elizabeth Eldridge is a Certified Psychological Health and Safety Advisor from southern New Brunswick.  She founded Arpeggio Health Services in 2012, growing it into the Atlantic region’s largest provider of standardized mental health education programs including Mental Health First Aid and suicide prevention training.  In her consulting role Elizabeth works with corporate, government and non-profit agencies across the country that are striving to optimize workplace mental health and improve employee engagement and productivity.  Her work with clients involves assessing organizational needs and guiding leaders through best practice adoption, policy development, culture change strategies and implementation of Canada’s National Standard on Psychological Health & Safety in the Workplace.

with Nathalie Plamondon-Thomas

Anxiety is often caused or is worsened in the presence of negative self-talk. Recent statistics show that 70% of our thoughts are negative and that 85% of people suffer from lack of self-confidence in at least one area of their life. Imagine if we talked to others like this: “You are building your business? It’s never gonna work, you are not good enough!”

We don’t address others like this, but that is the way we talk to ourselves. Nathalie’s presentation will explain in laymen’s terms how the brain works, how to control your emotions and a simple two-step technique to start transforming your inner language to unlock your full potential.

2021 Canadian Presenter of the Year Nathalie Plamondon-Thomas is a Confidence Expert. She is the international No.1 Bestselling Author of fifteen books about success, communication, wellness and empowerment. Nathalie is a Certified RTM Protocol Practitioner (Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memory), Certified NLP Master Practitioner and Certified Life Coach. She is the Founder and CEO of the THINK Yourself® ACADEMY, offering keynotes and trainings, leading-edge online courses, laser-focussed business strategy and one-on-one transformation coaching. Along the past 30 years, she has inspired over 100,000 audience members and empowered thousands of clients internationally to get rid of their negative self-talk.
