As the world around us continues to change and evolve with the Global Pandemic, planning for the future is indeed difficult. We were hopeful we could gather in person in Calgary in December 2021, but there are still too many uncertainties. Planning for the CAPS convention takes months and the right decision is to commit to a virtual format. We know we can provide you with an awesome virtual experience in December. Feedback from V-CON 2020 was overwhelmingly supportive of the virtual format, and many said, let’s do it again!
A huge thank you to our convention team who have planned, unplanned and are now committed to planning again. With this decision, we know it will happen in this format and we will bring together the best possible program. Our team is committed to building on the awesome experience from V-CON 2020.
What does this mean to me if I paid my $200 deposit for the 2021 Convention? We will apply your deposit to this year’s V-CON. Planning has just begun and Convention registration fees will be finalized soon. You will simply need to pay the difference between your deposit and the stated Registration Fee.
Will we be using the same format/platform as V-CON 2020? We are not sure yet – technology is changing rapidly. Later in the year, we will determine the best platform to use to deliver another stellar CAPS convention experience.
Can we plan “Watch Parties”? If regional gatherings are allowed, we will encourage chapters/networking groups to get together and participate in V-CON 2021. CAPS will keep on top of this option and work with all members to come up with innovative ways to gather and participate.
Can I get a refund on my deposit? Of course! We will set our new cancellation policy soon and advise you of key dates.
Will CAPS ever get to Calgary….? Yes! December 2022 CAPS will be (hopefully) live in Calgary, Alberta.
Watch for all your V-CON 2021 details coming your way soon!
