It's becoming clear that the economy is going through a major, long-term correction. At the same time, we’re hearing clients stressing value and content over entertainment. The "old ways of business" don't necessarily work the way they used to. Technology is everywhere we look and to be successful today, we need to know how to use it! Our industry is changing indeed.
This leads to our focus for the year – a Focus on Value – our theme for 2010.
The value part of the equation is in what we (as a board) provide to our membership and in ensuring that we all have the tools to provide the value our clients demand. The camera “focus” represents the need for all of us to master our technology - the tools we use on stage, the new social media and the growing power of television on the web. Providing this support for members is my personal focus this year.
The Calgary chapter has never been stronger: our members are extremely active and supportive throughout the year, our programming has a well-deserved reputation as being spectacular, and our board is experienced and dedicated to providing the highest value to both members and guests.
We have an exciting year ahead. Check out our site at http://www.CAPScalgary.ca. I can personally assure you that you'll receive exceptional value. I’m staking my year on it!
