President’s Message

When Lynn Fraser advised that she needed to step down this year from the Chapter President’s role, I felt a sense of obligation to lead this Chapter because of the many wonderful benefits that have been provided to me by the membership and our previous Chapter leaders.

Since my time on the board as treasurer, I have noted a number of major changes to our chapter. We are growing. The board in the last couple of years has been re-organizing. Our new organizational systems are creating a blueprint that will provide our future leaders the tools to make Edmonton CAPS one of the envied chapters in Canada.

I believe it is the board’s goal to provide our membership with educational and marketing opportunities to make them a success. We will work as closely as possible with all of our members to improve their businesses.

I challenge each of you to think beyond your current needs, looking for ways to improve your speaking business through the opportunities that membership in CAPS can provide.

As you might imagine our members are an integral part of our Chapter's culture and share in our vision and our ideals. We believe in leveraging the abilities of our members and investing in them, so that they can be the best that they can be, and in turn provide a greater value to their customers.

As part of your regular visits to our website, I hope you will gain a better insight into the Speaking profession, get a better sense of who we are, and feel our eagerness to constantly improve. I look forward to hearing your comments.
